A birds-eye view of Downtown

Picture
The 18-story Denny's Building has gone by several names since opening in 1990. The structure is topped by a two-story auditorium.
Picture
13-story Schuyler Apartment Building (b. 1950) in distance. SS is not sure why anyone would build a "13-story" structure of any kind.
Picture
Left: 10-story Montgomery Building (b. 1924). Right: 9-story Marriott Hotel (b. 2003)
Picture
Front view of Captain Montgomery's Building. Some guy named Pressley gave a concert in the building's theater in 1956.
Picture
Close up of Denny's HQ. Grand Slam, anyone?
Picture
The complex of three buildings in the background form the Chapman Cultural Center (b. 2007). Housed within are two performing arts theaters, a history museum, a science center, and space for visual arts, ballet, and other goodies.
Picture
Foreground: SPARTA Bus Terminal. Eight routes comprise the current mass transit system which replaced electric trolley cars that once plied Main Street. Background: "The Hanger," a youth-oriented facility operated by the First Baptist Church whose steeple can be seen in the distance.
Picture
Garden outside Palmetto Bank. {Full disclosure: At the time of this posting, the webmaster is long Palmetto Bank stock.}
Picture
Seen in the background are upscale condos which are popular with retirees due to proximity to the library and restaurants.
Picture
Left: Advance America HQ. Right: Formerly the Control Data Building, a business incubator.
Picture
Left: Extended Stay Building. General Morgan stands guard in the background.
